Abstract

Background. Relevance of the article is defined by a need of reconsideration in the new era of the symbolic scientific phenomena of the XX century. The appeal to theoretical aspects of a mythmaking problem is connected with the fact of myth rootedness in cultural systems that defines its serious influence on the solution of social, culturological, philosophical problems. The purpose of the work is to prove the prospects of remythologization correlation with a problem of the national identity which has found an expression in mythology of different nations.
Materials and methods. Realization of the research tasks was achieved on the one hand – on the basis of consideration and the critical analysis of the concepts by the known Russian and foreign researchers, on the other hand - by the analysis and summary of many dissertation works and scientific experience of studying individual and author's mythmaking in works by the Nizhny Novgorod scientists. The methodological basis included the historical-literary and comparative and typological methods and techniques of complex philological research.
Results. The article considers the current trends of studying the remythologization phenomena and mythopoetics in humanities in the XX centuries and analizes scientific experience of mythopoetics and mythmaking research in works by the Nizhny Novgorod scientists, the authors generalized theoretical aspects of the dissertation works devoted to these problems in line with concepts of Russian philosophers, mythologists, specialists in literature (A. F. Losev, A. A. Potebnya, A. A. Takho-Godi, O. M. Freydenberg, Ya. E. Golosovker, A. V. Gulyga, S. S. Averintsev, A. Ya. Gurevich, E. M. Meletinsky) and also the works by foreign classic researchers of humanities of the XX century C. G. Jung, K. Kerenyi, J. Campbell, M. Eliade, which are devoted to functioning of universal (mythological) archetypes and the myth as a whole in modern art consciousness.
Conclusions. The prospects of the presented direction of studying author's mythmaking and features of mythopoetics are connected with the need of development of methodology and the technique of complex philological research of modern European identity and functioning of the national and cultural codes recorded in myths of different nations, in literary consciousness of Europe of the XIX–XX centuries.
